It is dark

Where there will be stars

In a forest of silhouettes,

A black owl sings a song,

every night

She cries when she finishes -

flies off her branch

The silhouettes stand still, silent

watch her go

The sky has surrendered to the night

together the sky, the owl and the silhouettes

look further

where there will be stars

  1. The sky has surrendered to the night
that has stars, and only them.

  2. I wish for a night which is such. It would be a delight to hear the owl sing a happy song.

  3. Essence of the poem - There are a few readers of mine who have complained of not understanding the meaning behind my writes.

    For them, please read

The forest of silhouettes is this world, where the silhouettes is us. We are asleep and have no messages left in us. We have no fire left. We are blank and cannot be much differentiated. We as I say, are asleep.

A black owl, one who knows how to survive the night is desperately trying to wake the world up by singing a song every night. She doesn't succeed each night and cries at her failure, none the less she tries.

The silhouettes, dont react but watch her go - which might be a silent want of having her back or just nothing. The black owl's color has merged with the black of the forest, but she is alive.

The bird soars to the sky hoping to see some passion. But the sky, envelop of the world we live in has also surrendered to the black, such that we are blinded.... But thabkfully we have some hope though unlike the owl we dont have the zeal.
Hopefully the sky, the bird and the silhouettes look further beyond their blinded visions where there will be stars....
